      It would depend on the project you are working on. The beading wire used in this video is Accu-Flex® Beading Wire. It is a great beading wire for these types of projects and we would recommend using these types of crimps with beading wire for best results. Why a 45 degree cut? I’m confused

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems 6 днів тому

      The 45 degree cuts are cut in opposite directions which allows the ends of the roll to overlap each other slightly instead of having two flat ends bumped up against each other. It will help keep the seam together and makes the seam cleaner.

    What was the name of the last bail you showed with the double loop? I think that's what I need. I just received a memorial necklace of my Dad's thumbprint along with a Dad charm and his birthstone charm, and it is always twisting, so you don't always see the fronts. It is 3 charms on a chain. It is fine sterling silver, I believe? I want to place an order, and I have many things sitting in my cart waiting to see which bail I should get. I hope I hear from someone. Thank you.

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems 6 днів тому

      The last bail is called a Rabbit Ear Bail. That could potentially prevent the twisting. Just be sure that the bail is large enough to accommodate the chain/cord and that the charms have loops going the correct direction to face forward when connected to the bail. Here is a link to our Rabbit Ear Bails: bit.ly/4b9znA7 Please let us know if you have any questions!

    You had me at demystified😅 Perfect opening paragraph, grabbed me right away. Question about face Shields. I did get a really good pair of eye protection where my eyes are completely sealed so nothing can get in. I look like I'm going skiing, but I don't care. I want to protect my eyes at all costs. My question is, can I use the covid face Shields?. I mean I'm not making Thor's hammer.

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems 12 днів тому

      You will want to make sure to follow any safety guidelines listed on your torch. The top priority is protecting your eyes with appropriate eye protection. As for covering your face, it depends what kind of covid face shield you are referring to. If you are using a full face plastic shield, that could help protect your eyes and face along with eye protection. If you are referring to the standard covid masks that cover the nose and mouth, then they could provide a small amount of protection to the mouth and nose, but if you are torching something that gives off any fumes, these masks may not be designed to filter those specific chemicals. If you are using it to protect against toxic fumes, be sure to ensure that the type of mask you are using is rated to protect again the type of fumes you may be creating. In that case it would most likely require a respirator over a covid mask. Again, in either case, be sure to refer to the safety guidelines on your torch or material you are working with. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    What silver beads do you recommend that won’t tarnish?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems 15 днів тому

      Hello! It would depend on the application. Sterling silver beads are great to work with, but will eventually tarnish over time. Fine silver beads will last significantly longer before any tarnishing. For an economical choice, you could also look at silver plated beads. These would give more of the fine silver look, but they will tarnish over time. For most designs that are meant to be worn consistently, sterling silver beads would be a great place to start. Here is a link to all of our silver beads: www.firemountaingems.com/beads/beads-by-type/metal-beads/silver-beads/?prefn1=web-category&prefv1=Beads
